One of our Pokemon judges Austin has his sights set on visiting univercities around the country and teaching anyone who is interested how to play Pokemon TCG!
Learn to Play at University of Oxford Brookes was a great success! Austin managed to find a contact within one of the societies in Oxford Brooks and from there a quick back and forth began. In coordination with three societies at the University, Austin went out with fellow judges Bart & Alex!
As we didnt know what to expect we roped in a few hardcore seasoned Pokemon players and four of our locals Conor, Sean, Artur, and Lucas joined us for an evening full of PLAY!
A huge turnout and a ton of fun with the 30-card learner decks for anyone who is new to the scene! But it didnt stop there, a few people turned up that have 60 card decks and some experience playing Pokemon TCG! This 3 hour event turned out to be have lots of enthusiasm from everyone, including some who had never interacted with Pokémon at all before. Booster packs where opened, old and new card collections were shared and a bunch of nostalgie brought this evening to a great success.
Talks of future events and interest in Pokémon TCG, VG and GO are on the table. I for one was amazed by the enthousiasm and turnout of these young adults and I very much look forward in continueing the trend at Oxford Brookes!
